
Top 10 Things To See In Rome

1) The Colosseum


Obviously, the Roman Colosseum has to be number one on this list. When planning a trip to Rome, most visitors immediately want to go to the Colosseum, and for good reason! These impressive ancient ruins were once an amphitheater that could host 50,000 spectators during gladiator games in 70 A.D.
2) Trevi Fountain

One of the most memorable fountains in the world, Trevi Fountain is famous for it’s beautiful architecture.
3) The Vatican




The Vatican is located within Rome, however, did you know it’s actually it’s own country? The Vatican is the home base of the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church. The Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, and Piazza San Pietro are all found here.

4) Pantheon
The Roman Pantheon is one of the best preserved monuments in the city of Rome. It is a former temple, with impressive architecture, built in the year 125 CE.
5) Spanish Steps


These are the steps that connect the Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Trinità dei Monti Church. The Piazza di Spagna is so named because the Spanish Embassy in Rome is located there, and therefore gives the Spanish Steps it’s name.
6) Roman Forum & Palatine Hill


The Roman Forum sits at the base of the Palatine Hill. The ruins are the remainder of what used to be the center of ancient Rome, hosting many public meetings, speeches, and criminal trials.
7) Castle Saint Angelo & St. Angelo’s Bridge

The St. Angelo’s Bridge is a pedestrian-only bridge that leads to the castle. It was originally a chamber of tombs for the Roman Emperor and his family and later used as a fortress by the Roman Catholic Church. It is now a museum.
8) Piazza Venezia


Piazza Venezia is a major intersection in the heart of Rome and contains many important buildings and monuments, such as the Altare della Patria, Palazzo Venezia, and the Church of Saint Mark.
9) Arch of Constantine

Constructed in 312 AD, the arch is a celebration of Emperor Constantine winning the Battle of the Milvian Bridge.
10) Baths of Caracalla
The Baths of Caracalla are large ancient baths in Rome that were constructed in the early 200’s and used until the 530s. They are now in ruins and are available to tour.
