A Look Into A Stay At The Millennium Downtown New York Hotel

** This blog post is part of a sponsored collaboration between Travels with Kayy and Millennium Downtown New York Hotel **

The Hotel

The Millennium Downtown New York Hotel is the most picture perfect hotel in the city of New York.  This amazing four-star hotel offers beautiful views of Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Hudson River, and Jersey City. You can see these views the hotels high-rise rooms, sunrise to sunset. The views are, without a doubt, the best part of a stay with Millennium Downtown New York Hotel. However, the location, right in the center of lower Manhattan, is just as sublime, as are the prices! For this area, the rates are kept quite reasonable, without sacrificing quality (read: luxury) or comfort. Travels with Kayy votes this hotel as the accommodation with the best views, location, and prices, in Manhattan!

The Location

Situated downtown, right across the street from the One World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial, the Millennium Downtown New York Hotel could not be placed in a more perfect location!  When I say right across the street, I mean literally right across the street! Downtown New York is exactly where you want to be for your second, third, or even eleventh, trip to Manhattan.

Most first-time tourists who visit New York City make their way to Midtown Manhattan. Here you can find the “main attractions,” aka Times Square, the Empire State Building, Grand Central, popular museums, and more. Downtown Manhattan, does hold a gateway to the famous Statue of Liberty and the aforementioned One World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial. However, there are also so many hidden treasures to discover. The Millennium Downtown New York Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore when you are ready to dive deeper into New York City.

Getting To Millennium Downtown New York Hotel

Getting to the hotel is quite easy via public transportation from the two main train stations in Manhattan. From both Grand Central Station and Penn Station, there are multiple subway lines that  take you within walking distance of the Millennium Downtown New York Hotel without the need for a transfer. As long as you aren’t carrying multiple large suitcases, travel via subway shouldn’t be too much of a hassle. Subway and bus transport is also possible from the three main airports that service New York City. However, transfers are required, which makes it a bit more complicated if one is not familiar with the MTA system. A taxi or shared ride service, such as Lyft or Uber, while more expensive, will be far more convenient to/from the airports.

The Rooms

Each room at the Millennium Downtown New York Hotel boast a beautiful view of Downtown Manhattan and the surrounding areas. The hotel offers single or double rooms and several suite options. For a single bed, guests may choose between a king or queen. Then, there are rooms with two double beds. There are “Deluxe” versions of each room, which offer city views from a high-rise floor, as opposed to a lower level. A room with a high-rise view is Travels with Kayy’s personal recommendation!

There are five different type of suites available – both junior and luxury suites – at the Millennium Downtown New York Hotel, which sleep between three and four people.  Junior suites are a little over 400 square feet, while luxury suites boast over 800 square feet of space. Each of the suites have a separate bedroom space and at least one common area. The largest suite available has two bedrooms and is a total of 1,600 square feet!

Single bedrooms start at $228 USD, while double rooms start at $305 USD. Junior Suite prices begin at $365 USD, Regular 1-Bedroom Suites start at $738 USD, and Luxury Suites start at $908 USD. Price is dependent on the time of the year. The holidays and summer are considered “high season” in New York City and therefore will cause an increase in nightly rates. Visit the hotel’s website to check the most updated prices and book your next stay!
